GAME LIST: APPEARANCE & FUNCTIONS, Practical Uses - Insights by Stefan Akall

The game list is accessible via "Tools\Databases."

It's a lot of fun to work with an appearance that's tailored to the screen and purpose.
When databases need to be compiled, they should be done quickly and effectively.

The APPEARANCE of the game list is fully configurable. The CONFIG BUTTON provides access to the options and their saving.

PREREQUISITE KNOWLEDGE:

The fixed native appearance of a database is defined at creation and has no visible name.
Temporary appearances that hide the native appearance can be created, modified, deleted, selected, and reused.
Since they are given a name that distinguishes them from others, we call them 'appearance with a name'.
Version R2.20c has a breakthrough: by executing the shortcut ALT+C, it allows to directly select an 'appearance with name'. The appearance of the games list changes without having to open a tab or button. By applying consecutive "appearances with name," you can quickly browse any game list to your liking.

A reusable appearance name is added in the APPEARANCE LIST.
The native appearance is not affected.

Button 'SAVE' in the header of the window. The GAME LIST's appearance is immediately and permanently updated.

See also the 'Prerequisite knowledge' section.

8. Reinit the appearance.

This will remove any 'appearance with name' and redisplay the database's native appearance.
The game list will be displayed as it would be if the database was opened for the first time.
Alt+C followed by clicking the Reinit Button.

9. Deleting an "appearance with name"

Config\Configure the columns\Configurations\Save with name
Enter the same name and select “Overwrite”.
Option if the modified appearance should be applied to the database on the screen:
