  1. Congratulations on another alpha Lucas!!!

Also a question to other users of LC:
am i the only one that finds LucasElo very difficult in comparison to TourneyElo? In TourneyElo i have 1480 Elo and in LucasElo i'm stuck at 800 because i find Bikjump1 quite difficult to beat.

Would be nice to hear from other users, that use both modes whether they also experience a large gap between the both.

    All the best Lucas!

    1. But to play against Bikjump1 is optional you could skip it.

    2. Jojo B,

Run your games through analysis and have the tutor point out where mistakes are. Play over the training generated. I think you should step down 200 rating points on the opponent. (200 Points is a "step" in chess ratings - When you can win three in four games in a tournament at a "step" is when the soviet system would bump the pupils into the next grade. (This system was used at the most basic levels of organized chess - like a tournament between forms in school.)

    3. Jojo,

TourneyElo is not running in a ply limited depth mode. It is limited by search depth. (Lucas feel free to jump in if I am mistaken.)
Ply depth is simply a way of saying the number of moves I can consider in depth. One ply means I consider the consequences of my move and your move only. Five thousand positions a second means I am scoring five thousand possible positions based on an algorithm. (Five moves deep in any position is trivial.)
Previous versions of Lucas Chess can be bled out into a very weak program by playing a sophisticated opening and making the computer use all the thinking time to get to speed. When the endgame is reached the computer is caught between the time management and weakening algorithms and the bottom falls out.

LINUX - First binary version

The first official binary version of Lucas Chess on Linux has just been released. It has only been made possible by the great work done by Laudecir Daniel , choosing and compiling the 67 engines, as well as laying the groundwork so that the binaries can be more widely used and others such as shortcut creation, installation scripts, ...... In addition,  Graham O'Neill  has provided Linux-specific drivers for several digital boards. This version has two limitations : 64-bit Linux OS only. Minimum GNU libc version: 2.26 (ldd --version shows it) Installation has been made as simple as possible: The installer is a .sh file, generated with the  makeself  tool, and can be downloaded from: SourceForge , GitHub The file must be run from a terminal with user permissions only: sh ./LucasChessR123_LINUX.sh Launches a GUI with very basic options: Install: Installs in LucasChessR folder inside the home user folder. Generates a shortcut in Applications > Games Launch the application at the end
