Version 5.5 dev1 : new engines

Version 5.5 dev1 :  LucasChessPortable55dev1.exe

Added three new engines

Trainings : Game against an engine of your choice

  • New parameter: Set the strength of the opponent (based on idea contributed by Karbunclo-siliconchess), with five options :

  • While playing you can change the opponent, strength, and even color :

Kibitzers :

  • New option, you can select only one side to analyze or both (default).

  1. hey Lucas thanks for this great program

Can you put an option for exmaple: when I play vs engine and the game is finished I want play another game vs the same engine but I have to go to Training -> Lucas-Elo -> then I select the engine that for now is Umko 1

I dont know how you can implement the option for example:

    1. Play some games vs XXX engine
    2. Play X games vs XXX engine
    3. Play games vs random engines
    4. Play X games vs random engines

So when the game is finished the program automatically start a new game

    Another thing xD

Just close the program when click the [X] close button while a game is active, obviously auto-resing the game

And the last thing is: it will be cool if you put a statistics system like, win/lose/draw vs XXX engine and a general statistics

well it's all by now xDD

    Thanks again...

  2. Thanks tttony.

At then end of game program will ask if you want to play again. And it is possible to change parameters (+Options-Change opponent).

In relation to statistics, in Options-Configuration-Automatic save-Autosave to a CSV, stores information to be treated with a spreadsheet. Perhaps in future LC will make some work with this data.

    In relation to :
Just close the program when click the [X] close button while a game is active, obviously auto-resing the game

I don´t understand what is the problem.

  3. I will try to explain

Now when I click [X] the program show this msg:

    ¿Do you resing? (-20)

I click: Yes and the program show another msg:

    XXX engine has won
    New rating 1222

Then I can close the program

Just close the program when click the [X] button, show the msg:

    ¿Do you resing? (-20)

click Yes and terminate the program

Sorry I'm not good in english

  4. Olá Lucas, uma sugestão para o programa, acho que falta a opção de girar o tabuleiro, principalmente, ao ler as partidas em PGN, Faço meu treino com ele, estou evoluindo muito, pela linguagem PORTUGUÊS.

  5. Me refiro a versão 5.4 instalada ok!.

  6. Você tem que clicar (dua veces) sobre o círculo branco no canto inferior esquerdo do tabuleiro.

  7. tttony : solved.
Esta vez si que lo he entendido, creo que ya esta resuelto.
He dejado en dropbox la dev2:

    Muchas gracias.

  8. Instalable :

  10. Em relação a temas táticos, qualquer colaboração será bem-vinda.

  11. Hello sir Lucas.
Thank you very much for this great program. In my sight, it's even greater than Ubisoft Chess Master!

Back then, I like the analyze function of this program very much. It shows score for each move, and when I double click on the move, the tutor engine show me what is the best move/worst move in that situation. From the day I know Lucas Chess, I also use it to analyze my real games via Training menu > Utilities > Create Your own game, then I input the move and analyze. My question is, is there anyway to save the analization, so that I can review it later with out re-analyze it?

Again, I want to thank you for this great program. If it's possible, please improve analyze function even more, to make it even better than Fritz :D

  12. It is a good idea.
In the next release will be included.
    Thank you very much.

LINUX - First binary version

The first official binary version of Lucas Chess on Linux has just been released. It has only been made possible by the great work done by Laudecir Daniel , choosing and compiling the 67 engines, as well as laying the groundwork so that the binaries can be more widely used and others such as shortcut creation, installation scripts, ...... In addition,  Graham O'Neill  has provided Linux-specific drivers for several digital boards. This version has two limitations : 64-bit Linux OS only. Minimum GNU libc version: 2.26 (ldd --version shows it) Installation has been made as simple as possible: The installer is a .sh file, generated with the  makeself  tool, and can be downloaded from: SourceForge , GitHub The file must be run from a terminal with user permissions only: sh ./ Launches a GUI with very basic options: Install: Installs in LucasChessR folder inside the home user folder. Generates a shortcut in Applications > Games Launch the application at the end

R 1.06 Maia

This update contains a major improvement with the inclusion of Maia. Maia is a neural network chess engine, created with the purpose of making her movements as human as possible. The Maia creation team has prepared 9 versions, from 1100 to 1900 of elo, and thus they have been included in Lucas Chess. You have all the information about Maia at:

Version R

New version of the program. Continuist at user level with the previous one, but with great internal changes. This new version has been mainly tried: Update the code to a current version of the compiler, from python 2.7 to python 3.7 (based in a previous work of Alfonso Solbes). Update the graphic library, from version 4 to 5 of qt, via pyside2. Improve folder organization, with Linux support in mind. Negative consequences: It is incompatible with Windows XP. The data is not compatible with previous versions of Lucas Chess. The weight of the installer has doubled, currently around 120 Mb and the disk installation occupies 338 Mb.
