Version 10.06: more bugs fixed


  • Bug in engines processing is some PCs (thanks to Phillip Watts).
  • Tactics by UNED chess school, Pin missing (thanks to bolokay).

To update:


  1. check for update does not work in Linux/Wine (currently installed version is 10.04)

      Fixed in my tests, it is a general error, not only to wine.

  2. Αnalysis in version 10.06 portable in Linux Mint / Wine does not work.

    1. Perhaps a chmod -R 777 * of this folder can solve the problem.

    2. Please, because I am inexperienced in Linux, can you write, what to write commands in the terminal and instructions?

    3. You must open a terminal window in the lucas chess folder, then (if you are sure you are in lucas chess folder (pwd)):

      chmod -R 777 *

    1. I put the links to this release to test in immortal chess forum, and the links appeared in a web.
      As test failed, and 10.05 was published, then 10.06.

The first official binary version of Lucas Chess on Linux has just been released. R 1.06 Maia

 This update contains a major improvement with the inclusion of Maia. Maia is a neural network chess engine, created with the purpose of making her movements as human as possible. The Maia creation team has prepared 9 versions, from 1100 to 1900 of elo, and thus they have been included in Lucas Chess. You have all the information about Maia at:

Setting analysis parameters

Since version 2.04, you can change the parameters used by the program to determine whether a move is good or bad and also the elo calculated for an analyzed game. The parameters are as follows: limit_score Default value: 2000 Minimum value: 1000 Maximum value: 4000 Data type: integer Determines the score in centipawns from which the position is considered to be totally won, that the probability of winning is 100%. curve_degree Default value: 50 Minimum value: 1 Maximum value: 100 Data type: decimal percentage Expresses the correlation between the score in centipawns and the probability of winning/losing.
