Read PGN file:
  • Now supports the selection of multiple files (unknown)


New game in the beginning
  • Challenge 101: It is about solving up to 10 positions of all types, with assigning a score. The program saves the last 10 scores, and you can check the ones made from the Training menu/Personal training.


Board:
  • Added an icon in bottom-left in all boards to config that replace right button in the border.It can be hidden in the Options/Configurations menu/Boards, but menu always appears pressing left button in that area.
  • When showing a move, if there is an analysis, an arrow of the best move is showed. (Vladimir)


Analysis graphic window:
  • Added captures (Joël D)
  • Some other cosmethic changes.
  • Elo perfomance total and in opening, middle game and end game (Eren Külpinar)


Training positions: 
  • Added Play Current Position in Utilities (Brent)


Translations
  • New translation to Ukrainian by Volodymyr Soltys (initiated by Maxym Makarchuk)


Transsiberian:
  • Automatic save of games,... (Jacques D)
  • Some changes in level 1 (Jacques D)


Configuration:
  • Position of board configuration icon in Options-Configuration-Boards


New competition:
  • Strength in positions with only one good response (singular move).


Director:
  • Main change: graphic elements are added directly on the main board.
  • After saving a position the added elements are visible from any other board.
  • It is possible to change the file that has the information, which can facilitate sharing with other users.
  • Can be added text in a blackboard.
  • Activated with F1..F10.
  • A simbol appears in the board when the position has info.


Training positions:
  • Added pawn endings


Colors:
  • Background color in selected rows can be changed (Options-Colors-General-Tables). (Remes)
  • New theme, McBrain's Wooden Chess Board " - © 2017 by Michael Byrne , permission granted to Lucas Monge to use in the software "Lucas Chess".


Tutor configuration:
  • Depth as an option (R.Giorgi)


Analysis of a position:
  •     New cancel button (?)


PGN reader:
  •     Added <enter> key to select (Remes)


Kibitzers:
  • Added some options:
    • Priority of the cpu process, normal, low, below low, high,... (vga)
    • Analyzed position, it can be before the move on the board or after the move.
    • Visibility, when you have many kibitzers, some of them can be hidden in the selection menu.
  • Options can be changed live.
  • Order in the selection menu can be changed.
  • To edit:
    • Tools-Engines-Kibitzers
    • When playing, Utilities-Kibitzers-Edit


Database of games:
  • Added in Utilities mass analysis option (Marc)
  • Added two tools to change the order of registers (TheIgnobleSavage)

    3 things:

    1) Mcbrain 2.7 gives an error and cannot bet executed.
    2) There is new Mcbrain 3.0
    3) In th tournament between engines, does the list of placement consider also the Sonneborn–Berger score?

      1. If you have selected 64 bits in configuration, you must take into account that your processor support bmi2. To test, you could exec McBrain: Engines/windows/mcbrain/SF-McBrain-27_x64_bmi2.exe
      2. I know that, one problem is that Tactical option is not functional and I have not studied that this affect or not to analysis.
      3. It seems easy to implement, I have to study it.

      Ok, fixed problem with mcbrain, there were a problem with an option that works only with 64 bits, fixed, I have published 11.01, and program can be updated, from Information-Search for updates.

    Great Job. Lucas is one the best software out there. Let's keep improving it. However multiple file read is not working.

      Tools-->PGN viewer--> Read PGN--> press + Hold CTR and select multiple PGN games.

      Result: Only one game gets loaded even if multiple were selected.

      I just want to load multiple PGN files into PGN viewer at once. That's not happening. It only loads the last PGN file selected out of the many. Does it make sense now?

      I don't know which variables cause this situation, I just made the test and it works on my computer, with Windows 8, I select the files, I check that all of them appear in the list of selected ones and after accepting, I visualize all of them.

    hi lucas why not worked sts test suite?
    and please add sts test suite new option time-one position
    and please add new option menu tactical strengh engines(tested engines epd or pgn tactical test suite database(Arena and Fritz option))
    and please add human sts test position(tested not engine tested human)and add new ratings human.
    and please add new human strength option(engine analyzid human all games and new ratings human and human played only your level engine or worked only your level training)
    and sorry my bad english(and please add simultanius game options(played many games one oponent or played many oponent many games))

      Because I have a bmi2 processor, this is the only reason. And it is possible to add all 64 as external.

      Downloading the sources from github, and installing the libraries, should work. Sources include a folder = Linux with installation instructions.

    hi lucas i'm tested you software many other cpu(but only windows(xp,7,8,10)) but allways not worked sts test suite lucas version 10(portable) and 11(portable) but version 9 worked perfectly.please fix this bug why older version worked sts test suite and new version don't worked. Thank you best free chess software and sorry my bad english

      Could you test stockfish at depth 3, by example? It works in my PC. If this doesn´t works in your PC, please contact with me in lukasmonk at gmail.

      yes i'm tested stockfish depth 3 and many other engine and all version do'nt worked engine load but no position analyzed only stopped. I'm completly video create tested this bug but sorry my internet very slow. please ask other members tested this bug why worked all engine version 9 and do'nt worked any 10 and 11 version. sorry my bad english

LINUX - First binary version

The first official binary version of Lucas Chess on Linux has just been released. It has only been made possible by the great work done by Laudecir Daniel , choosing and compiling the 67 engines, as well as laying the groundwork so that the binaries can be more widely used and others such as shortcut creation, installation scripts, ...... In addition,  Graham O'Neill  has provided Linux-specific drivers for several digital boards. This version has two limitations : 64-bit Linux OS only. Future version 10 step 05: Scanner of positions

Some days ago Juan Carlos Antón, head of UNED chess school , does give me permission to include tactical positions from the PDFs on the downloads of UNED web, which I consider very educational. The problem is there is no possibility of obtaining  original fens. The solution to ease my work, has been to create something like an OCR of image positions, which at this specific case is working very well. Only three concepts are handled : mark, deduce, and learn. First, mark the board, the next step is to deduce, if there are errors the user corrects them manually and asked the program to learn from them. At the beginning there are quite a few errors, but less and less. To mark the Board a transparent window is launched that occupies the desk and lets see the PDF and select a position.
